How long will my prints last?

Often, questions are asked about the longevity of photographs.

Many factors must be taken into account when trying to determine how long a print lasts.
We, at Street's Imaging, use products provided by reputable suppliers and use authentic products from these suppliers.
This enables you to check the latest data on the web for the particular product.
Wilhelm Research is recognised as the independant organisation which will answer the longevity question.
In brief, most of the professional print products we supply will last 70 years or longer however this is dependant on storage conditions.
Factors to be taken into consideration are:-
1. Lighting conditions. (Museums etc display under low levels of tungsten lights. Are the images in albums in a drawer or are they on the wall where the afternoon sun shines on them during summer?)
2. Atmospheric conditions. (Constant temperature and humidity are important.)
3. Physical treatment. (Are the images behind glass? Have the images had additional treatment? Are they attached to a suitable substrate? Have they been produced according to the manufacturer's instructions?)

Street's use Kodak Professional Photographic Products according to Kodak's manufacturing instructions.
Street's use original Epson Archival Inks on canvas and art paper.
Street's use archival art paper and canvas for Giclee printing.
